Mardi fit to be tied!The Mardi took on the Peter Northstars, a team that has become a disliked rival for us, on Tues at the Mastercard big ice. We don't like this team, and their red-helmeted show off star, and they took it to us good in the first half of the game going up 2-0, although Cousin Dan was stellar, he just couldn't stop them all. But we played gritty Mardi hockey and got on the board when J-Fed (moved to forward position like a fitter and nicer Byfulien) and Professor P***y kept the puck in at the boards and sent the puck to the slot where Emilian was waiting in the blue ice to slam the puck home, five-hole. Well Done sir!
Then Mr. Frey, wearing his $29.95 Bauers (circa Rob Ramage era) took the puck up the left side and near their goal line sent a pass into the slot where Geoff deflected it home! Sweet, We held on for the 2-2 tie that felt like a win.
POST-GAME BAR REPORT:Headed to Bryden's and drank lots of different beers ( I had a headache the next morning)...discussed what beer named after a ball player would you drink (this came about because there's a beer called Ernie Whit (Sp?) on tap...talked division re-alignments
